Thank you for attending the 2008 sale. Due to an accident we do not have horses in the sale this year. We look forward to seeing you at the 2009 sale.  When I was two years old, I got my first horse. That was Powder Zip Cutie, a little bay mare that my dad gave me. I have been riding and raising horses ever since! My start in registered quarter horses came in 1964 with my first filly from the Chester Paxton Ranch. From that time on we have been riding, raising and selling horses. We like to sell started horses that are not finished but that are ready to go on in whatever direction the buyer wants to take them. We live in big hill ranch country; therefore, we look for some specific things in our horses: soundness, great disposition that anybody and everybody wants to ride, lots of cow sense and endurance for an all-day cattle drive with enough energy when you get home to get a cow in. Brood mares at the C Bar C Ranch at the present time include Blanton Wood, Colonel Freckles, Snickelfritz Chex, Nifty Pal 119, Happy Hancock, Figure Four Fritz and Muy Bueno Gitanno.

Muy Bueno Gitanno Muy is a beautiful true blue roan Stallion. Great disposition with a world of cow sense. He’s my number one saddle horse for  all-around ranch work when he’s not with his band of mares. He throws over 50% roans and lots of blacks. All colts have black points. Muy’s fillies are making outstanding brood mares with lots of milk and crossing real well with our young Four Fritz Black Stud. We thought so much of the horse, and wanted to continue our breeding program with him, that we chased him to the Waggoner Ranch in Texas where Craig had him consigned in the 2001 Remuda sale. Del Negro caught the eyes of the people from all over the country at the sale and he was the second top-selling horse at $20,000.  Since returning to the Sandhills, Del Negro has been heavily scrutinized and gotten high praises from several good horse people.
